I am an Infectious Diseases and Lifestyle Medicine physician, medical educator, leadership enthusiast, and lifelong learner. My current role is as faculty at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University where I direct an award-winning elective curriculum on leadership, teamwork and health systems science for medical and health professions students. Peter Longley

Peter earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and his Master's degrees from Southern Connecticut State University. He completed his Doctorate of Nursing Practice, with a focus on population care, at Quinnipiac University. Peter entered the nursing field using the GI Bill after serving the country during Operation Desert Storm. Since becoming a Registered Nurse in 1996, Peter has gained extensive experience in post-surgical patient care and has developed a passion for critical care nursing. He spent the majority of his acute care career at Yale-New Haven Health, where he not only provided patient care but also managed a patient care unit, educated fellow nursing professionals, and gained a deep understanding of healthcare data and hospital finance operations. Peter's primary mission and passion are to engage in dialogue, collaborate, and enhance the healthcare system alongside diverse colleagues and perspectives from both within and outside the healthcare sector. His goal is to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to anyone who prioritizes their health, and to demonstrate the capability, creativity, and compassion of healthcare professionals when they are given the resources to deliver optimal care and knowledge to others.

Maya Doyle

Maya Doyle (MSW, PhD) is a social worker, educator, and rare disease researcher-advocate who teaches in the Master of Social Work/School of Health Sciences and the Frank Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University (QU).  She has been the coordinator for the kidney camp program at Frost Valley  YMCA  for more than 25 years.  Maya is currently a Faculty Affairs fellow at QU  working on a scholarship community project, and mentors multiple interprofessional education (IPE) events each year.   She completed her doctoral work with a study on emerging adulthood and healthcare transitioning for young people with rare disease and has published articles and chapters related to the experience of illness, transition to adult care, and genetics. She has been a speaker at many patient/family advocacy meetings, created educational resources for patients and caregivers, hosts transitioning workshops for teens and their parents and serves as a professional advisor to the Cystinosis Research Network. 

Amber Vargas

Amber Vargas, is a graduating medical student at Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University and incoming Emergency Medicine Resident at Yale. Amber’s areas of professional interest include leadership development, mentoring, inclusivity and belonging. Brooklynn Weber

Brooklynn Weber is a medical student at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University, class of 2028. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle.
